Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In a Title l school like mine, resources are hard to come by and so is student engagement. My students receive free breakfast and free lunch, and often come to school tired, but eager to learn.
In a low socioeconomic status neighborhood, there is a great mix of challenges, hardships, and most importantly, America's bright future.
It's not that the kids don't want to learn, that's all they want. Unfortunately, most come from homes that don't support learning or find the importance of education.
My Project
My students need new curriculum for center time. By receiving a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, I am able to buy fun and engaging centers that will keep them excited and engaged during centers time.
Small group time is the best time for the students because they receive individual instruction from the teacher at a small group table.
This gift card will allow for me to have them at their groups engaged, instead of off task and interrupting my small group time.
Unfortunately, the district does not provide centers to the teachers, so all of our center activities have to be out of pocket. Please consider donating to my classroom!
