Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from various different backgrounds, cultures, and home life experiences. For many of my students, school is the most consistent thing they have in their lives. Some of my students don't speak the same language as me or other students in my classroom.
Some of my students come from homes with loving parents.
I serve a very diverse set of students, but I care for each of them. I want my students to feel safe and cared for while they are in my classroom. I want my students to succeed and have the best learning experience I can give them.
My Project
My students are in need of more materials for center time. We are wanting to provide more choices for the students to avoid them getting burned out so quickly on the same materials every day.
Students need variety when learning.
The same toys every day getting boring after a while. The dress up clothes will add some spice to our dramatic play centers, and the books on CD offer more choices for the listening center.
The other materials will add new centers to our classroom for our students to enjoy. I want them to love coming to school, and to have so much fun they do not even realize they are learning.
