My 27 students come into my classroom every morning full of energy and ready to learn. 1st grade is a critical year to teach reading and math skills. I want my students to feel comfortable in the classroom and enjoy the time they spend in it.

It is important to create an environment where learning is not only knowledge, but fun. When I was a child, there was no center time or the ability to move around the room and enjoy a book or math game in another area. I want to provide my students with the proper materials to ensure they are feeling relaxed and safe in their classroom environment.
My Project
Centers allow my students time to grow with their peers. It also allows me time to work with small groups of students to ensure that they are developing their minds. I would like a classroom environment that is enjoyable for all my students. This includes giving them seating options when they go to their centers, so that they can focus on their tasks. I am asking for wobble cushions to use in seats or on the carpet while they are reading with a partner, enough stools for all students to have a seat when meeting with teacher, balance balls for concentration when completing tasks, floor seats to support my students backs, and chair socks to keep chairs quiet when moving the chairs around the classroom.
