Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In any great success story, no one has ever gone straight to the top. There are always obstacles, choices, and failures. All of my students have run into their obstacles, made the wrong choices, and failed. That is what I believe to be most intriguing about them. Rather than having a road paved for them, they have to pave it themselves.
All of my students were at risk of dropping out, and are now taking full advantage of their second chance.
Our school was designed to support students who have struggled in the traditional classroom setting with traditional classroom teaching. These supplies will help them learn curriculum objectives while overcoming obstacles, making the right choices, and being successful.
My Project
In the past, the struggle for a good project often came from finding the materials to do it. Sometimes it is bugging the art teacher for materials or grabbing leftover boxes from the custodian's closet. It makes sense that a bunch of Legos would be a perfect tool for my students to build their cell with something that they are already used to.
These blocks will allow my students to build, create, and learn about cells through a hands on approach.
Through sharing Legos and ideas, my students will be building soft skills and an understanding of the building blocks of life. Hands on activities complete the blended learning model and provide my students with the best learning opportunity.
