Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

For my entire teaching career, I have always worked with urban, high-risk school children. Many of my students look to us for guidance and to help make life choices. My goal is to expose them to as much as possible to help them make good decisions.

My kids are a positive, motivated and dynamic group.

They have a great desire to know new things, participate in enriching activities, and have realized they have the ability to do whatever they desire.

My Project

I would like to purchase lab kits for my students so they can have exposure to lab practices and hands-on activities. Because we are an urban district in a poor state, many students don't have the chance to experience many hands-on activities.

Lab materials are expensive but necessary for students who are enrolled in AP Biology.

This gives them the opportunity to gain a full educational experience while they are enrolled in the course and hopefully foster a love for the process and study of science. My personal goal is to give them the opportunity to experience as much as they possibly can.
