The students at my elementary are a mix of cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our school gives each child a chance to learn and explore the world around them.
The students love to create with a variety of materials.
They love to play and explore. We explore the STEM world through many different materials. The students love to build with everyday supplies, such as cups and blocks. They also enjoy the opportunity to learn with technology such as robots and iPads.
My Project
This year our school has adopted a house program where students of all ages get assigned to a family that they stay with through their entire career at our school. These families help students have a sense of community, as well as teach them various life skills and manners. Each house has its own identity, including a color associated with it.
Students love to earn capes in their house color to wear for the day to display their awesome achievements.
The students are able to earn a cape to wear to show that they made gains in academics or behavior goals.
