Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students attend an inner-city public school where approximately 90% live below the poverty line. We spend a lot of time doing hands-on learning.

All of our students receive a free or reduced-price lunch and participate in the backpack program on the weekends.

This does not stop our students from coming to school and showing their love for learning. We love to explore everything around us, both inside and outside of the classroom. We love to show what we know and learn in a hands-on way.

My Project

These materials will make a big impact in our classroom. The bin organizer will allow us to put our workbooks and other supplies in a central location that we all can reach.

Being able to celebrate your birthday is a big deal in kindergarten!

Students' names will be displayed on the cupcake cutouts; on their birthdays students will receive a birthday crown and sticker so the whole school knows that it is their special day. Students whose birthdays are in the summer also get to pick an un-birthday so they get a chance to have their own special day, too!
