My class of 21 kindergarten students is ready and willing to learn when they come to school each day. These young students who come in the year unable to identify their own names, are reading and writing, as well as adding and subtracting by year’s end. When they walk into the classroom, their learning journey begins.
Kindergarten is the place where foundational skills are learned and the creation of a lifelong learner takes place.
Each day in our classroom is a new discovery.
My Project
Each year during the first week of kindergarten I allow students to share about themselves and their families. This year, I would like to make these introductions a celebration of themselves and their differences!
We are all unique; we need celebrate our differences starting at an early age- in kindergarten!
As the years have gone by, I am proud to say the children of our school district have become more diverse and unique in the our way. The materials requested will help me foster the joy of being from different backgrounds and having different needs. I want students to be able to see themselves as the wonderful being that they are and celebrate what makes you, you!
