I teach 30 fourth grade students. They are very energetic and we are moving constantly. The future of the world is in my classroom today!
My students are leaders, authors, explorers, creators, scientists, readers, artists, and more!
We have created a safe space where all learners can feel welcome and accepted.
While I set high expectations for my students, we work together to create a classroom constitution that we all will agree to commit to. While our routine and expectations are a big focus, we sometimes need a bit more to help us stay on track.
My Project
"We lose ourselves in books, we find ourselves there too." I believe that literature allows us to learn about the world through other people's perspectives. This is so important, especially for children growing up in a world where there are so many differences.
Through books and lessons, students learn to recognize and feel pride in their identities and trust that they can all aspire to become anything they want to be.
The possibilities are endless for students that feel represented, acknowledged, respected, and uplifted through the books available to them in their classroom library
I would like to expand my classroom library so that students have more opportunities to see themselves and learn about others from books.
