My Students

Our district is one of the most diverse in the nation. Our students come from a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds, speak multiple languages, and perform on a wide range of academic abilities. It is amazing to educate children who are so different from one another. They have some of the most fun and vibrant personalities, and I am excited every day I am able to work with them. I have never met more hardworking students!

With all of the demands we put on our young students, they deserve a chance to learn through hands-on activities, in a fun and engaging environment.

We try our best as a school and community to present our students with creative ways to express their knowledge. I am so excited to bring new opportunities to my students. I can't wait to inspire them to become more motivated learners and kinder citizens.

My Project

I want to give my students a chance to see themselves in the books we read. They say the way to someone's heart is through their stomach and I fully agree! Nothing brings people together and makes them happier than sharing delicious food. These books are centered around different cultures and a main dish that would be easy for us to create and share in the classroom.

This has been a tough few years for my students, teachers, and families, and I want to bring some joy into the classroom along with important values like understanding, compassion, respect, and knowledge about culture.

I am excited about bringing this project into the classroom and teaching my students about various cultures. As one of the most diverse districts in the nation, they will undoubtedly learn about the cultures of their family members, friends, and classmates. I want to teach my students academics while empowering them and building their self esteem and cultural pride.
