Help me give my students mints, rock candy, starbursts, nerds, airheads, and blow pops to make End of Grade Testing notes to include in their encouragement buckets just before testing begins this year!
I am blessed to teach third grade at a wonderful Title I school in northeast North Carolina. Our students are loving, hard working, easily motivated, and care about each other and their success! They thrive on competitions and reaching goals set for them throughout the school year.
Our students get excited, work harder and stay more engaged when they are given options and choices which makes them feel valued and that their interests matter!
We are a diverse school consisting of students and families from various backgrounds and cultures as well as Coast Guard families. They are each unique and have a special way of winning our hearts with their kindness and thoughtfulness. The students and staff at our elementary school have truly become a family to one another!
Our elementary school will be testing the last week of May. Each year, we request encouragement letters from our students coaches, tutors, family, friends, club sponsors, and parents to include in their End of Year Testing Encouragement Buckets.
This project will provide candy to include in a surprise presentation of encouragement buckets that will also include special positive notes, thoughts, and well wishes for their first year taking the End of Grade state testing in both reading & math.
We will fill each encouragement bucket with the items requested in this project such as the mints = "You were Mint to Succeed," the rock candy = "Rock that Test," the blow pops = Blow that Test Out of the Water," the starbursts = You're a starburst of knowledge, and the smarties = "Do your best Smartie Pants!" to name a few.
Thank you so much for supporting our project to encourage and celebrate what we want to see more of in our school building during EOG testing which is focus, motivation, determination, drive, confidence, and most importantly, success! This is my 20th year giving encouragement "mail" to students the day before the first test. Each year it is so meaningful to every student and most years, we have a few tear up from the notes they've been sent with love. Thank you for helping to make this special memory a reality for our third graders during this stressful time of year!
