Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a fun mix of personalities. Each one of them hold a special place in our classroom. Without one of them our classroom wouldn't feel the same. We learn to accept, care for, and include one another when we are together. With every new morning their little faces show excitement and eagerness for learning.
As a teacher in a low-income school, I witness the many challenges my students come across with in and out of the classroom.
Yet, they continue to inspire me day after day. They are the perfect example of persistence, determination and success.
My Project
With these materials I hope to make Earth Day Celebration for my students a memorable and knowledgeable one. In our classroom, we have no globe so, it will be exciting to show the students the desk globe that will provide a clear representation of our Earth and find areas of water and land we can learn and discuss. The inflatable globe, aside from using it for outdoor games and activities, will be used as an example to create paper mache globes for each student with the glue that we plan to receive with this project as well.
On Earth Day we will celebrate our magnificent planet Earth, home to all living things, demonstrating our support for the environment and pledges to protect it not just on Earth day but every day.
The rug will provide a comfortable seating area in my classroom for some flexible seating where students can rotate weekly. This rug also displays our planet Earth and kids of different ethnicities holding hands. This rug will not only be a constant reminder of how important our Earth should be to all of us but also, that together no matter who we are or where we come from we must come together to care and love our magnificent planet Earth.
