Help me give my students an end of the year celebration that is bubbling with fun for a job well done including a water slide, summer Brain Quest books, and bubbles.
My students are dreamers, problem solvers, and likely the most creative little people you will ever meet.
They are a happy group of first graders who love school and love to learn.
My students' economic situations are just as varied as are their family dynamics. We have military families with a local National Guard unit in our area and an Air Force base close by. We aim to take good care of our military families. Our district includes an Indian Reservation and we have a high population of Hispanic students, many of whom have family members who work in the agricultural industry. It is so rewarding to teach, whether I am helping a gifted student learn, one coping with ADHD learn, or anything in between. I feel like I have the best job ever!
My Project
These are very trying and uncertain times right now, but I know the thing we can do most is give our students and their families hope. Hope for a brighter future. Hope for answers and solutions. Hope for great days ahead. I love to celebrate the end of the school year with my students. With school closed so quickly, and the uncertainty of when it will resume, I think it is important, as I continue to teach and communicate with them distantly, to let them know that things will eventually return to normal, and we will be together to celebrate everything they have done. We will either do this at the end of the school year, or if needed, we will postpone it until school is ready to start again. The important thing is they will get to do it.
We are asking for your support in receiving Brain Quest books the children can work on at home.
In their bags, (which I already have) would be the books, bubble gum, and bubbles. I know these items would be used and welcomed by the children and their parents.
When the time is right, we will also enjoy some time outside together with the water slides. This has been a tradition I have done for years. Students ask on day one if I am still doing it, because they hear about it from their older siblings or neighbors. Thank you for helping me make this happen for these children who have had their school year disrupted by the Covid19 pandemic.
