My third-grade students are creative, inquisitive, and ready to learn!
Our high-poverty school is located in the heart of a major metropolitan area and is the largest in our county with over 1,400 students from diverse ethnic backgrounds around the globe.
There are 20 students in my class, 7 boys and 13 girls ranging from 8-9 years old. My class is comprised of students from various backgrounds and interest levels, but they have one thing in common - a love of learning!
My Project
Our students love technology! We have not only learned how to use conventional digital tools such as PowerPoint and Word, but we have integrated cutting edge educational tools such as Discovery Education's Studio, NearPod, and Microsoft SWAY into our curriculum on a regular basis. We edit and revise writing pieces using Microsoft Word and create digital presentations of the things we learn every day using story maps, digital bulletin boards, Powerpoint presentations, and more. Now all we need is a way to present our work in a concrete way for the world to see!
Providing opportunities for students to utilize 21st Century Technology is critical in today's educational plan for developing the kinds of skills students will need in the future.
This printer is needed to help celebrate students' digital achievements by allowing us to print and post our digital work around the classroom as well as keep hard copies for literacy folders and parent/teacher conferences.
