My Students
My talented middle school readers are from the far southeast side of Chicago. We love to read! We read for enjoyment daily, but also work together to develop our skills to become better readers, writers, and thinkers.
Our in person classroom and virtual classroom serve as an oasis to explore, create, and share.
Despite learning from home, we are continuing to foster a safe, creative, and collaborative space for students to develop their craft as readers and writers. Our learning community is also a place to nurture our social emotional development through understanding our identities, building trusting relationships in our learning community and learning to advocate for ourselves and others.
My Project
My students are awesome. They are supportive big siblings helping their families manage remote learning. They show their dedication by maintaining 91% attendance or better. They show remarkable resilience as their families cope with Covid-19.
I'm requesting materials to celebrate their awesomeness as we continue remote learning a bit longer.
The materials requested will support their love of reading, creating art, and give students the opportunity to find peace during a stressful time. I have many avid readers, aspiring artists, and Anime fanatics. These materials will be mailed to students based on their interests and social emotional needs.
