My little Firsties are a diverse group with various needs and abilities. I have enjoyed watching them grow to their individual potential. They are so eager to learn. Their excitement about learning pushes me to be a better teacher for them. I want to provide them with every opportunity to achieve their goals.
My students love seeing their classmates achieve a goal.
I love how they cheer each other on no matter how big or small an achievement is. I am so proud to be their teacher.
My Project
All students deserve opportunities to be exposed to good stories being read aloud to them. Read alouds help students hear what good readers sound like. Listening to good readers helps young learners build fluency and reading expression. They also help teachers demonstrate a connection between oral and written language. I enjoy reading to my students; however, the cd players will allow my students to hear a variety of styles and voices of readers. This project would also allow me to service multiple children simultaneously.
The cds and audio books will provide a much needed service for my English Language Learners (ELL).
Through these read alouds, my ELL students will gain language exposure to help them become fluent in the English language. The cds and books will also provide a great visual tool to learn the English language.
The students will not only gain the things mentioned above, they will also enjoy having the independence to pick their own book to have read to them. My hope is that this project will not only strengthen their reading skills, but also strengthen their love of reading. I need your help to make this happen. Thanks in advance for your support!!
