My Students

There is nothing better than settling into a section of a room by yourself and getting cozy with a book! Well what if you aren't that great of a reader? Add a CD player and you have a great instructional tool to help young readers!

I teach 4th grade ELA and SS in a Title One school where most of my students do not have a lot of exposure to strong literacy, except in the classroom.

My goal each and every day in to inspire students to fall in love with reading, no matter who they are!

My Project

I remember when I was in elementary school... I couldn't help but get lost in the characters, settings, and twists and turns that presented themselves on the pages of the books that I read. That still hasn't changed as an adult. I love to watch my students become engaged in the books they read. I need portable CD players as a tool to help my students. I want to give them the opportunity to listen to fluent readers read and raise their own reading skills while following along.

Donating to this project would not only impact the two groups of students that I get to teach this year but will have a huge impact on the groups of students that I will teach in the future!
