Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a variety of backgrounds, but they all bring a unique characteristic to our classroom. Our classroom wouldn't be enjoyable without them in here. My goal was to bring the 7 Mindsets into my classroom to build a tight-knit community with a foundation of mutual respect and accountability.

My classes are so funny and always have the greatest ideas.

They are curious, quirky, and willing to make mistakes to help themselves learn. I recently changed schools and had to leave all of my manipulatives at my previous campus and start over new. Which is why I came to DonorsChoose to find materials to enhance their learning to help them become successful this year and in their future academic careers.

My Project

I recently transferred campuses and left everything from the block center at my previous school. Our students will use the products you provide to help them open the door to their creativity and thus the writing process while they draw/write their plans. Your generous donation will improve our Pre-K classroom by bringing their great ideas to life! They'll have access to materials to help them turn the block center into a community, garden, flower shop, space center, school, workshop, as well as anything that follows our curriculum.

My students love to express their creativity.

They're not afraid to try new things and fail if it gives them the opportunity to learn. Every unit we study has different center ideas for my students and we implement them as much as possible.

While students play in the block center, they'll write and draw about their creations through blue-prints, label items, sketch, and color which help them begin their journey into literature and writing. They'll work with partners to problem solve through different aspects of the building and develop their spacial awareness.

With the construction play people, you'll help them to use creativity to bring their buildings to life. It's hard to play "city" with no people. , The Lakeshore Block Play People from different backgrounds will help build their sense of community. With the blocks, you'll help them come up with even more spectacular buildings. Currently, we have random pieces of blocks and they don't make sense for what we're trying to teach. The toy vehicles will help the students learn spacial awareness for their projects which helps with measurement and construction.
