Our students come to us from a variety of ethnic cultures. We serve a population of students with over 30% coming from low income socioeconomic backgrounds. Our middle school serves over 1200 students.
We are Texas Strong, and a community that sticks together and helps our fellow neighbors and friends.
Our students continually give back to the community through service learning projects. They work hard to provide food, clothing, and toys to those in need, to clean up our roads with trash pick up, and to perform music concerts for our local retirement home.
My Project
Our school has started a junior culinary school where the students learn to cook and bake a variety of foods.
The students learn how to cook, package, market, and promote their creations in a junior culinary school environment.
They are not only learning how to make delicious dishes, they also learn how to cater food for special school events.
They need the Crock pots for chili cook off competitions as well as to make slow cooked foods such as pot roast. The students are learning how to present their food in an appealing way and the catering signage will help to make the food look professionally prepared.
