Mrs. Romero from Los Angeles CA is requesting Books through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

Catching Up With Time

My students need a functional diverse listening center with multiple topic books such as math and science books.

  • $340 goal

This project expired on August 13, 2013.

Hooray! This project is fully funded

My Students

"Small opportunities are often the beginning of great enterprises"- Demosthenes. Help my young students hear the magic of wonderful stories brought to life through great narrators. Stories and books are the key factor to understanding any subject including Math, Science, and Social Studies.

All students deserve a chance, sadly some children have been "left behind".

Please help my students have some updated resources we cannot afford due to lack of funding. Budget cuts across the nation, state, and district have cut necessary funds that supported schools. The public libraries in this area have limited days they are open. The school librarian is extremely limited to old books and operate on a bi-weekly schedule of 30 minutes for each class.

My Project

My kindergarten students will have independent access to listen to books rich in vocabulary and subject areas such as math, science, and social studies with a new listening center and multiple books to choose from. The students will be empowered to touch each word and read along as the audio phones play the stories.

The economy affected everyone.

However, this community was behind in funding and resources way before the bubble burst. The students deserve to have books that were published in this decade and audio books that turn words into stories, vocabulary into facts, and pictures into reality!
