Help me give my students some new materials to throw and catch, including Gamma Foam Balls because they are soft and move at a 75% slower speed than a normal tennis ball.
My students are energetic, positive thinkers and eager to learn new things. They also love to play and build their skills for a variety of sports and games. For many, Physical Education is their favorite part of the day because they get to move and interact with their classmates in a different way.
Many of my students don't get the opportunity to build fundamental sports skills outside of school.
These include throwing, catching, kicking, rolling and more which are imperative to finding success in a number of sports and games.
I try my best to meet their needs while continuing to challenge them with new and different activities throughout the school year. Being able to teach them starting in kindergarten through fourth grade gives me a unique opportunity to help them build their skills and confidence for a lifetime of physical activities.
My Project
As mentioned, many of the students at my school are still building the base level of skills that they need to be able to participate in more traditional sports and games. Two of the most important of these skills is the ability to throw and catch.
With the materials I have requested, I will be able to teach throwing and catching with equipment to reach students at all skill levels.
Rather than spending time chasing down an errant pass or missed catch, the bean bags and low-bounce tennis balls will keep students engaged and continue to build their skills.
Additionally, the variety of equipment will allow me to teach these skills in new and different ways throughout the year.
