This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work in an outstanding school with highly motivated students in Memphis, TN. We are a public school where students have to maintain high academic standards, display integrity, learn to become a community, and become academic leaders who provide service to others.
Ours is a small Title I school where transfer depends upon applications and interviews.
They want to be here! I love the enthusiasm and goal-driven nature of these students. They take opportunities to grow seriously and keep me motivated as an educator to keep finding new goals for us to pursue together.
My Project
Help my students use their technical know-how (Photoshop) to with a Cricut machine to create items to promote French Club and to sell to raise money for activities.
Students will be able to sell personalized items to students during which time they can learn to write receipts, project and schedule delivery times, budget for materials and their low-waste use as well as much more essential skills that can carry forward to college and career.
These students will learn how to run and promote a small, school-contained, business while improving their financial literacy. Many of our students are artistic and creative, while others have a very entrepreneurial spirit. Help me to teach them that a combination of both characteristics make for fantastic possibilities!
