Help me give my students 7 new violin cases to keep their instruments safe during transport to and from school as well as to field trips and concert performances.
The String Orchestra students at our school are dedicated and enthusiastic musicians. They have the opportunity to learn to play the violin, viola, cello, or bass. Each year, the students perform several concerts, attend a Northern California honor orchestra event, and perform the national anthem for a Reno Aces baseball game. They also attend field trips to see local and renowned orchestras and are visited by guest musicians. The students stay in the program because they look forward to the many events in which they are able to participate with their peers and friends.
About 80% of the students rent an instrument from the school district due to their remote location.
The students are appreciative of their instruments and take good care of them which is why instruments stay in the district inventory for many years. However, these instruments need new cases to ensure their quality and longevity. Bringing the instruments on the bus each morning to school and taking them to events out of town takes a toll on condition of the instrument cases.
My Project
Each spring, my orchestra students perform the National Anthem for a Reno Aces baseball game. The students love performing live at the baseball stadium and bonding with their classmates and friends. The students will be performing at the Reno Aces game in April or May 2019 and need new violin cases in which to transport their instruments.
The students use instruments owned by our district inventory and transport them to the performance in cases that are in dire need of replacement.
We need 7 new violin cases to ensure a safe trip in spring 2019 for the instruments and a fabulous performance by 6th, 7th and 8th grade orchestra students. The Reno Aces field trip is a highlight of the whole school year for the students. We want to make sure they have a successful performance experience by keeping their instruments safe and intact!
