My Students

My first graders are the best first graders around! I have been blessed with an amazing group of children this year. While they are all so different, with different needs and abilities, they are also collectively caring, loving and kind. I focus a lot on building a positive classroom community, and these students this year have fit into that "classroom family" role perfectly!

My classroom family is one where we work hard together, we grow together and we celebrate together.

We celebrate our similarities but we also celebrate our diversity and our differences. All of this comes together to make our unique classroom atmosphere the best place for my students to learn about a wide variety of knowledge!

My Project

A new carpet will allow my students to gather and learn in a safe, comfortable, home-like environment. We will use the carpet for whole group meetings, individualized work space, and partner and small group work.

My classroom enjoys flexible seating, and so this new carpet would greatly benefit many students for several years to come!

Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and feel like they are in control. In turn, their interest and desire to grow academically is enhanced. I strive to create a positive learning environment, that feels like home to them. This carpet would be another piece in my classroom to help reach that goal of a positive classroom environment.
