My students need the"Hands Together Community Rug", as it will provide an area to sit together as we learn and grow through enriched group discussions.

I have been a teacher for 18 years, and many things have changed in that time- curriculums, interventions, and teaching strategies to name a few. What has not changed are the students that come in to my classroom every year.
Children are excited, inquisitive, insightful, and ready to soak up everything I have to offer them as their classroom teacher.
Regardless of age or background, each child has the ability to learn and grow. My group of students this year will be no different, and I hope to provide them with a classroom environment that is warm, inviting, and conducive to optimal learning.
My 4th grade classroom currently does not have a single rug or carpet. I am a reading teacher, and would like a space for my students and I to sit together to discuss current topics and reading strategies. Sharing thoughts and ideas about a book is an integral part of reading for meaning, and a large area rug would provide us a comfortable place to learn together. It also provides a place to congregate for morning meeting, a time to greet each other and reflect on the day ahead. I specifically chose the"Hands Together Community Rug" for the message that it has printed on the interior.
Diversity, acceptance, and kindness are key in creating my classroom environment, and the daily reminder of self worth and love will be invaluable to my students.
