My Students

I teach in the only elementary school in my school’s county! It’s in a very large, rural area without many jobs available. Our school services children from several small communities inside the county. Often times, my children come in and say they couldn’t complete an assignment at home because they didn’t have the materials or resources... BUT, despite these obstacles that are out of their control, my classroom is STILL full of creative, thoughtful, curious, hard-working minds! They make me proud every single day!

My Project

My students are so excited to learn all the time, especially when they get to work together or as a class! We had a “rug” in the past, but it wasn’t of good quality and barely lasted through the year. My students deserve a nice area to come and do the morning message, listen to fun read alouds, and learn new skills during whole group lessons! They deserve an area that will help create a sense of community in my classroom! This new carpet will provide that area for my students and hopefully for the students that will pass through my classroom for many years to come!
