Mrs. Herd from Flint MI is requesting lab equipment through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need new safety goggles. Our goggles are old so the plastic is cracking and the bands are either stretched out or broken. Safety is so important. We need help.

My students are hard working, motivated teenagers from Flint and Flint township, so they are often too familiar with overcoming obstacles. While their backgrounds and upbringings range dramatically, their passion and drive surpass most others!
My kids are good kids with bright futures, I just need a little help in encouraging them to reach their true potential!
I know my students (and I) will be forever grateful and insist on paying any help we receive forward later in life!
Thanks!
Safety is the of the utmost importance in any science classroom. It is always a pain to ensure that students wear their goggles during lab, but this last year it became increasingly difficult. With our equipment breaking and being subpar, Students were forced to hold their goggles onto their faces. That act in itself adds more safety concerns to the lab. Also, many of our goggles aren't vented, which makes for a foggy, unenjoyable experience. We desperately need these goggles. I wish I could just have each student have their own pair to keep, but we don't have the funding for that. I have chosen the multi-colored goggles because I think it will make the kids excited to wear them, but also, I can group them by goggles and it will make it easier to see which students may be off task and at the wrong lab station (win/win!). My students and I would greatly appreciate any help in funding this project. If the eyes are the window to the soul, they are definitely imperative to developing a love for science- which is always good for the soul!
