This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are hands-on concrete learners who succeed when immersed in real world activities. They need the opportunity to explore careers outside of what they have already seen and a chance to understand how the world around them works.
We are creative and curious learners with multiple skills levels.
What we do well is ask questions. We love the opportunity to make conclusions and then defend our answers with evidence. Using the materials we are asking for will offer us an opportunity to develop detective skills that will make us successful in out future careers.
My Project
We will be dissecting owl pellets to determine how birds of prey operate. We will be able to see a food chain in action as well as understand how scientists explore the environment. Our biome kits will help us understand contrasting environments and how different animals develop relationships and survive.
This project will inspire students to look at a career in science and to understand the importance of biology.
Students will be given a chance to act like a scientist, collecting clues and making justifications.
