My Students

My students are some of the most dedicated, talented, and underestimated kids in St. Paul. I have the most magnificent 10th and 12th graders and feel lucky to work with them every day. Even though they face obstacles greater than most of us can imagine, they bring themselves to school, put on a smile, and actively learn.

These are the students who have dreams bigger than the world, and they know exactly what they need to do to reach them.

My students are committed to pushing themselves to reach their goals, and they often find themselves encouraging others to do the same.

When you start at the bottom, the only way to go is up-- and I have no doubt each one of my students will be successful in all of their endeavors.

My Project

Just when I think I've thought of everything, we're on the last box of crackers or I'm out of healthy snacks for my students.

Having supplies on hand for students to be able to feel clean, cared for, and fed helps me to make sure each student feels good about themselves and can be successful.

My classroom is a relaxing and calm space for my students to be themselves while exploring literature and the world around them. I want my students to know this is a safe place for them to express themselves, build relationships with staff and students, and further explore who they are.
