Help me give my students some awesome art materials and writing journals in a care package to express themselves during our Distance Learning; these markers and journals will be one of the best investments in the care bag!
During such a difficult time like the coronavirus pandemic, my first thought was about my students and how I could get them all the things they needed to still learn.
I miss and worry about my students constantly and try and connect with them as often as time will allow so I can still do my job, but also check in with them.
They are one of the best groups of kids I've ever had and I miss them terribly.
My students consider us a classroom family and as we move through this hard time, we continue to try and find a new normal, which is hard through distance learning, but we are finding our way as best we can.
My Project
Now more than ever, this will help my 3rd graders be able to express themselves by writing in a journal or artistically express themselves with the lesson about feelings that they'll get from me to show or write how they are feeling. It's hard for my students to express verbally when we chat about how they feel about all of this and being away from school.
This care package that we will deliver to them will help them process everything they're feeling and will help them better express the emotions they have surrounding being away from school during the pandemic.
It would be a great way for us to process and discuss what they are feeling through art and writing. The video chats and Zoom sessions are great but this project would help more students; it would help all the students in my class process this time in their lives.
