Most of my students come from families struggling to overcome poverty. More than 75% of these students qualify for free or reduced lunch. These children are eager to learn, experience new problem-solving strategies, and explore their talents.
I want to offer my students basic care for their scrapes, cuts, bumps, and bruises with ice packs, latex-free bandages, and petroleum jelly to ease chapped lips.
I would appreciate your help in making this project a reality. So many of our students struggle with poverty, and they do not have access to these care items at home. It is difficult for the one nurse we have on duty to keep up with providing needed medication, let alone to tend to the knock, bangs, and paper cuts that happen every day at school.
My Project
The supplies you provide will go directly to improving the quality of life for my students, who often do not have access to basic health care at home. Latex-free bandages will keep those scratches, scrapes, and cuts clean and protected. Ice and bags will offer relief for the knocks and bangs that happen in gym class or recess. Ease the many chapped lips in my room with a dose of petroleum jelly so my children can smile without pain.
