My Project

Woohoo! We are putting on a play about our community, The Bronx. Due to lots of bad press, or no press, when people think of The Bronx, many negative thoughts may arise. I want my students and our school community to have a positive image of The Bronx, a place where many of us live and learn.

The Bronx is multi-cultural and diverse and has an important history that needs to be told.

The 4th and 5th graders in our new Theater Club have learned about this history and are now ready to present a play or play-reading to inform others of the history. The students helped with the research and will also create the music for the play. They are expanding their skills, their knowledge and building their confidence. They will go on to be great leaders in the Bronx and the world. That is also the purpose of putting on this play. And they will have fun doing it.

Many of the materials that have been chosen will help with set design and performance.
