This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom consists of forth and fifth-grade students with High Functioning Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Other Health Impairments. We are on the Common Core curriculum and follow the same pacing plan as the general education classes.
My students are motivated and have a thirst for knowledge.
I provide a safe and fun environment for them to learn in. Roughly half the day, I teach in a whole group setting while the other half is spent in small group settings where I can pinpoint needs and focus on individual weaknesses. We are a low income, Title I school made up of English learners and special education students. Most of my students do not have access to technology outside of the classroom.
My Project
In my class, we go on many field trips throughout the year. We also get involved in many captivating and interesting programs. Over the year, my students will create lasting friendships and memories. Unfortunately, we have not been able to capture those memories on video.
I want to be able to record all these memories and compile them into a digital yearbook.
With a GoPro video and digital camera, I can record all the activities my students are involved in throughout the year. With iMovie on their iPads, my students can create a digital yearbook. This yearbook can stay with them forever and be shared with their families.
