This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My high school students are primarily minority students from the poorest region of our state. Many of them are from single parent households without any secondary education.
The majority of my students don't have strong parental support, financial means, or support for higher education.
Many of them lack the desire to improve the quality of their future. Support from Donors Choose shows my students that people do care about others and are willing to help support them even if they don't know them.
My Project
Although many cell phones have cameras, our school has a NO cell phone policy and we cannot document current events or laboratory findings without cameras.
Proper equipment gets the job done and without it, nothing gets done!
We desperately need cameras not only to document the school year for the yearbook and newspaper, but to record growth in the laboratory, document dissection progress and compare and contrast different lab experiments and results.
Without cameras, we stuck in the dark ages and rely on a sketch artist to document events and results. Having cameras would change everything for the better at our school.
