My Students

Our school serves 7th graders- 12th graders who live all over the city of San Francisco. We provide productive and safe environment for at-risk students who have struggled with behavior issues, truancy and emotional difficulties. Civic Center Secondary School focuses on uplifting our students by catering to their academic and emotional needs; while still maintaining a positive experience for the students. Everyday is a challenge for our students to get to school and we strive to celebrate every accomplishment made by each student.

My Project

My students would love to get more involved with photography. This camera can provide my classroom to start our own fashion shows and self-portrait workshops. The aim is to give the students the opportunity to control their own representation and imagery. Many of our students suffer from depression and self-esteem issues that prevents them from shining who they are fully.

This is a excellent opportunity to help inspire my students and showcase that they each are beautiful / special in their own way.

The "Capturing The Beauty of My Students" Project will also allow students to have access to their own pictures/work after printing.
