This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are creative, and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Many students in my classroom come in saying they have difficulty completing practice assignments at home because of lack of supplies and resources.
These children come from low income homes and live in poverty.
My Project
The camera and ink will allow the students to monitor their progress through building a digital portfolio. This is a really hard assessment to convey to parents because sometimes students can do the work, but lack the ability to transfer the information. Hello, digital camera! With a quick snap I can capture the student and their work, saving their results. Later, I can compare growth, share pictures with parents, and even show good solutions to other students. Digital video is available on most devices to capture student responses and oral presentations, which allows students to see their responses and mistakes and critique themselves.
