Mrs. Pollock from Mc Kees Rocks PA is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need headphones and a Luna Interactive Projection Camera to help bring technology into our classroom!

"We are a team!" "We are a family!" "We are problem solvers!" These are a few reminders that I tell my students each and every day. Being a teacher in a low income school district has been so rewarding, but nevertheless it has it's challenges. I teach 4th grade in a small urban school. Our funding has been drastically cut, so it is up to the teachers to purchase a lot of the "extra" things that help our students each and everyday.
Throughout the school year, I learn more and more about the traumatic events that some of my students have experienced or are currently facing.
Unfortunately these experiences effect my students on a daily basis. No matter how challenging their home lives are, I always try my best to provide my students with a caring community for them to grow above and beyond their expectations!
My students love using our classroom laptops and going to the computer lab, but they do not like that they aren't able to hear anything. My students use our laptops during math centers, but they always get frustrated when they aren't able to hear the game or activity they are completing. I tried having my students put the volume on low, but it became too much of a distraction. The same situation occurs during reading class when my students try to complete the different interactive activities online. They love playing the learning games, but they become easily frustrated when can't hear what the program is telling them.
My students are really hoping for headphones!
I am also asking for a Luna Interactive Projection Camera. This digital projection camera will be used in all classes for whole-class demonstrations! I will be able to project my students math problems, so that they can explain their reasoning instead of having to complete the work again on the board. The Luna will also be able to project manipulatives in action, book pages, and more!
The headphones and Luna Interactive Projection Camera will help provide my students with an engaging and exciting learning experience! Thank you for helping my students learn and grow in exciting ways!
