Mrs. Wynn from Houston TX is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a digital camera and a camcorder to produce print images and videos of the engaging science activities that are happening on our campus.

"The technology keeps moving forward, which makes it easier for the artists to tell their stories and paint the pictures they want." - George Lucas By producing different types of digital media, my students will be able to share their digital gifts and talents with the students and the staff.
We are located in west Houston and service over 750 diverse learners.
Our school is a Title I school with a large population of students who are on free or reduced lunch, economically disadvantaged, or at-risk. During the past couple of years, our population of the international refugees has increased. Currently, we service students who speak at least 19 different languages.
There is a huge push across the country for students to participate in STEM programs. School are finding creative and innovated ways to get students interested in science, technology, engineering, and math. Our students work extremely hard doing science research projects and activities. Each year we have a showcase for the students to show their research. How exciting it will be to have two awesome tools to capture the hard work of our students! This is a great opportunity for us to take a huge leap in the digital world. To incorporate technology, our school had a media broadcast room where each day students served as anchors for the morning announcements. Due to technical difficult with the equipment, the morning announcements stopped. We would like to use the camcorder and the digital camera to begin a web based broadcast this year. Since my classroom is the computer lab, this is a perfect place to utilize these tools.
As a part of an innovative in our district, our school has a huge focus on environment science.
The students spend the entire year doing research on project-based learning experiences using the Independent Investigation Method. Most of the students look forward to integrating technology by doing PowerPoint, slideshows, or using other types of digital media. The camcorder and camera will allow them to capture the different wildlife that we have in our nature center to add to their projects.
