Educational travel is a key component of our new globally-focused curriculum. The opportunity to witness new cultures first hand and experience history tremendously enhances a studentâÂÂs enthusiasm for learning.
Last year, we developed an educational partnership with our Sister School in Aarhus, Denmark.
The Sister Schools Program offers students the unique opportunity to internationally collaborate on educational projects, develop lasting global friendships, and cultivate understanding and appreciation for the world in which we live. Last March, twenty-six Danish students and their teachers visited our High School. During that time students lived with host buddies, attended classes and numerous events, and absorbed American culture. This year we will travel abroad with eighteen of our students to Aarhus where students will reciprocate the exchange experience. Additionally, students will spend a second week visiting France, the Netherlands, and Germany.
My Project
In order to prepare for the travel and educational experience of a lifetime, our students are conducting research and collaborating with their Danish hosts for a paramount project correlated to their travel and European cultures. An essential part of this project is for students to record their experiences abroad through personal interviews and the creation of cultural video montages. In order to do so, we need 12 handheld video cameras for students to utilize on our travels. When we return home, students will be creating paramount technology-founded projects on the key elements of culture; these projects will be presented to our school and local community.
By donating to this project you are not only providing necessary resources to our cohort of Sister Schools students, but contributing to the success of our program as a whole.
As a supporter of the Sister Schools Program, you are committed to educating students culturally and preparing them as global citizens!
