My Students

Have you ever tried to keep a group of 24 first graders focused for longer than 5 minutes? Believe me, it is not an easy task. With an LCD projector, I will have the ability to keep my students motivated and engaged while they learn at the same time.

I teach 24 first graders in a public school.

My first grade class is bright and enthusiastic. They are eager to learn and are excited whenever I teach concepts that are hands on or actively involve them in the process. I have mostly boys this year and they can be an active group. Of course, they love computers and video games, so I would love to introduce them to a new type of technology that makes it fun for them to learn and keeps them focused.

My Project

The LCD projector will enable my students to stay focused and motivated during a lesson. It will provide them with opportunities to play learning games through such resources as our adopted math program Envision Math. Through using the projector, the games or activities will be large enough for all my students to see and they will be able to come up and circle answers on the white board or point to the correct answer. I can also show educational movies, teach writing lessons, demonstrate art lessons, and set up math problems by projecting images on the screen. The possibilities are endless and the projector will enable my students to actively participate and stay focused and motivated as well as provide them with the opportunity to be exposed to new technology. A grant through Chevron Classroom Challenge would greatly benefit my students.

The LCD projector will help prepare my students for the 21st century by providing them with the opportunity to work with the newest in technology.

The projector will benefit my students by keeping them focused while providing new ways for me to teach various subjects. The projector will make learning exciting and fun for my children.
