Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 104 5th grade science students who attend a low income, Title I School located in Dallas, Texas. 98% percent of my fifth graders come from low-income homes and are first-generation students attending school. My students are always excited to come to class and have a positive attitude to learn each and every day. They get super excited to start working in lab stations to investigate the science content through hands-on learning. They will be able to take these life-skills with them to higher education.
My Project
My students need a Canon Camera to snap away their Science investigations. This will give my students the opportunity to record, track, and take pictures of their labs/ science investigations to help each other understand the science content. This will also help my students that are absent keep track of what they missed by analyzing the videos recorded and pictures. This will help them stay on track.
My students work in groups to complete their lab investigations just like real-scientist work together.
They will be able to elaborate on their learning throughout each lab and the school year.
