Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

This year I really want to encourage my students to interact with our school and community. As a Kinder - 6th literacy coach/resource teacher in a low income community in east San Jose, I really try to reach out and share with the families of my students. Every week I try to share scenes of the students learning with parents and fellow students through photo copying. I have been using disposable cameras to take pictures of the students in the past. But the class could really benefit from a digital camera. Additionally, next year we will be creating student portfolios using a new binding machine. I would love for them to be able to create their own memory books using the digital camera and the binding machine as well. The digital camera will incorporate art with media and technology. Additionally, it will allow them to take more value in their own work since I will be taking pictures of them during their creative process and with their final products. All of my teachers and students will benefit from this resource. Thank you for your consideration.
