Kindergarten children see the world with a sense of wonder. I would like my 15 kindergarten children to be able to capture their first experiences in school with a digital camera and photo dock. So many times adults tell young children "not to touch.” I would appreciate the children having equipment and the supplies "to touch and explore" with photography. They need the opportunity to "capture the moments" they feel are important. The ability for the children to instantly print photos could lead to several activities. The children could use their photos for class books, individual books, or non-fiction writings during science and social studies units (Yes, kindergartners can create books). The photos could also be used to help create a kindergarten memory book for their parents or send home a photo of a special friend. The opportunities are as limitless as a five-year-old's imagination. Requested equipment and materials: Child-friendly digital camera with compatible photo dock. Also needed would be an initial supply of photo quality paper and ink cartridges. Additional supplies would be welcomed if donor is willing.
