Captivating Novels for Young Readers

Help me give my students captivating books to spark the magic of reading! In the upcoming school year, I want to make for certain that my students have books of their own to enjoy all year long!

My Students

Our school is a Title I public charter school serving a unique community outside Los Angeles. Our school's focus is on leadership, service learning, and social-emotional growth. By the end of the year, each student at our school participates in a service learning project to give back to the community in some way!

Because of our greater student population's economic circumstance, my students and the rest of our school receive free or reduced price lunch.

My students work incredibly hard each day and deserve to walk into our classroom everyday excited to learn and feel comfortable enough to experience triumphs and trials together!

My Project

With the unknown of the upcoming school year (because of Covid-19), I am not sure if I will be able to allow students to use our classroom library. If that is to be the case, I want to make sure that my students have access to exciting, engaging stories that we can read together.

I hope all my students will uncover the magic in each of these stories and continue to grow in their pursuit of learning!

These are some of my favorite young novels and I hope that the diverse choices push my students to consider how the stories that they read can affect their own lives. Being able to provide personal copies of each book to all of my class will also be really exciting and special for each of them, as well!
