I teach an amazing, diverse group of 4th graders who are passionate about life and learning. They are curious, creative, and especially kind. Our motto is "work hard, play hard" and my students do just that!
Many of my 33 students come from wonderful low-income families where educational materials are lacking, yet they come in every day with smiles on their faces asking, "What are we learning today?"
They are all very goal-oriented. They are constantly tracking their learning goals and challenging themselves. They have an incredible sense of pride as they see their accomplishments throughout the year.
My Project
Chromebooks open up an endless amount of resources for students. Students can read popular books as ebooks for reading, practice multiplication facts or get remedial support through online programs for math. They can look and listen to primary sources when learning history. Students love to type their finished writing on computers and can even use online dictionaries. Students will be able to complete fun and engaging PowerPoint and Google Slides presentations.
Many of my students do not have any technology at home, so Chromebooks in the classroom are many students only opportunity to gain vital skills for the 21st century.
My goal is to eventually have Chromebook for each student. I have 33 fourth graders and all of them would love the opportunity to have more computer time each day.
