My students need a learning environment that stimulates excitement from the moment they walk into the door storage boxes, bulletin board border, and water beads.
I teach 28 wonderful students in a Title I School who serves military families. We are located by Tinker Air Force Base, which directly impacts military students who come to our school. Each of them enters the school inspired to grow. They have an eagerness to learn and take pride in their work.
My students are life's best teachers.
Despite what happens outside of school, they maintain consistent character traits in school by controlling their own actions. They have the empathy to help their peers when something is wrong and the discretion to walk away when it's appropriate. The control of their emotions leads to a healthy adulthood.
My Project
If these materials are funded, the students will be excited to come to class. These materials will provide a theme for the classroom that makes them want to come to school and learn. While some of my students may never see the ocean, this will provide a real life experience for them within in the classroom.
The chairs that my students currently have at teacher table are falling apart.
The students often fall through them and they need something more durable to sit on while they are reading. Providing a safe place to learn and grow is key to the success of all students.
