My students are hungry, not only for the food in the cafeteria, but also for reading interesting just right books. Each day, students spend thirty to sixty minutes reading books that will help them develop the necessary reading strategies to make them successful readers!
I teach 22 bright and eager 3rd grade students at a school near the coast of South Carolina.
My students have an enormous desire to become better readers. In order to become better readers and be actively engaged in reading, my students need books on their reading level that they find interesting.
My Project
Each and every day throughout the school year, students spend time reading to themselves. Students have the opportunity to select books that interest them on their just right reading level, encouraging successful practice of the reading strategies taught during whole group, small group, or individual instructional time. With the help of these interesting books, students would be able to successfully practice the new reading strategies taught because they will be actively engaged in their learning.
With the help of your donation, third grade students will be able to improve their reading skills.
The students will be actively engaged with the new text because it is interesting and will further develop their repertoire of reading strategies.
