This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a small school located in North Mississippi, but do not let that fool you. Many of my students will make a great impact on the world in the years to come. Our elementary school, located in Holly Springs, MS is a Title 1 funded school. We are the mighty lions, and we show our pride in all that we do.
Many of my students come in every day with the drive and will to learn.
It amazes me how eager they are every day. My students are active, cheerful, and excited to learn. They are encouraged to take charge of their education and support their peers through challenges and successes. We strive for a positive, close-knit classroom community.
My Project
Our classroom is lacking technology. Many if not all of my students are technologically savvy but most of them lack the necessary skills to succeed as they prepare to enter middle school.
With these laptops, I am sure this will enable my students to begin daily practice creating Word documents, Powerpoint presentations, and even start building and creating their own websites.
My students will use the internet for research projects, creating presentations, and publishing written pieces. Your generous donation will provide my students with 2 laptops that will aid students as they practice many computer skills essential for 5th grade and beyond.
