My students need sturdy headphones that fit over their ears. We use a lot of technology and these will be a lot more comfortable for the kids than their earbuds and last a lot longer too!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My forearms baked in the sun of the swap meet, as my fingers spun the spinner and my eyes scanned the crowd for prospective students. I was eager to share my latest lesson plans regarding "The Science of the Fidget Spinner" with them and their families. My potential and current students, Latino and African-American learners who are handed free lunches and spend their free time at the after school club, are fascinated by the transfer of energy, inertia, friction, and the conservation of angular momentum. Experiencing and experimenting with their own hands, they want to share what they've discovered with Photo Booth videos, displaying their creativity with added effects to their digital imagery.
We leverage projects, technology, and individualized goals to appropriately challenge all of our 5th grade learners, who possess academic and social emotional skills that range from kindergarten through high school level equivalencies.
No matter where their skills are assessed to be when they come to us, every learner is accepted as they are and every learner grows from there. Respect, love, challenge, and support are shared by all.
My Project
We use a lot of technology in the classroom, including 1:1 MacBooks. However, we only have fragile earbuds for testing purposes and few learners have headphones of their own to bring to class. This leads to a lot of ambient noise that distracts learners from their studies.
These headphones will allow our kids to fully leverage our technology and focus on their own studies independently.
My current students and future classes will benefit from these headphones, as they will allow the children to hear their computers without physical discomfort or racket. Learners will be able to work on ST Math, RocketLit (with scaffolded history and science lessons), Edpuzzle video lessons, and Reading Eggspress without impacting the learning of others.
