Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my math classroom, I use an online computer program called iReady to help students close the gap in their learning. I teach them 7th grade math content every day, but for HW and once a week for 30 minutes students work on this program to address math concepts from lower grades that they have not yet mastered or need to spend additional time learning. I have been using a sticker chart to create healthy competition and drive interest, but as we move into the second half of the school year I want to up the incentive.

The items in this project will be used to reward students each time they pass an iReady lesson.

I want to use these favorite candies to drive student investment! The goal of this project is two fold. First, I want to encourage students to do their best and love learning. Second, I want to show students that incentives are part of the real world. When we do great work, we get rewards (like a paycheck or we can buy what we need with our paycheck).
